Yosemite - Sunday September 24th

One of the long held traditions of the Oil Leaks is that someone will have car problems on the way to the start. This year was no exception, and the victim was Phil's beautiful Mark X. Charging problems had resulted in a flat battery and despite the efforts of a mechanic in Oakhurst, the car had to be towed to the Pines Resort on Saturday. The suspicion was that the voltage regulator was to blame, and Michael came to the rescue with a new spare part. So, at the crack of dawn on Sunday, Michael and Phil could be found in the parking lot working on the repair.  Michael's E-Type and Phil's Mark X - early morning surgery The Oakhurst "mechanic" had left his mark on the car when he unsuccessfully tried to fit a Chrysler regulator which made it much more dificult to determine how the replacement should be wired, but after some thought we believed we had it correct. This year, Glen Barker took on the daunting challenge of organizing an Oil Leak. The route follows the Sierra Mountain range in California from Bass Lake to Mount Shasta. The following lovers of Jaguars participated: Bill Sherlock: 1965 Black FHC Carolyn Arnquist: 2015 Red F-Type Convertible David and Debbie Langley: 1966 Black E-Type FHC - Quad headlight special Glen Barker and Sharon Delp: 1969 British Racing Green OTS Glen Enright and Jan Whittlesey: 1969 British Racing Green OTS Lloyd Nolan: 1971 Pale Primrose OTS Michael Jenkins: 1969 Light Blue 2+2 Mike Humphries: 1967 Sand OTS Milton and Carolee Wheeler: 1966 Old English White 2+2 Phil Endliss and Tom Swayze: 1966 Dual tone Opalescent Dark Green over Sherwood Green Mark X Vikram Ambrose and Olga: 2009 Aston Martin DB9 (S3 OTS not quite ready) The group travelled to the Bass Lake Resort from as far away as Washington state, arriving on Saturday 23rd September. The Oil Leak starts tomorrow on the 24th.
